Writing post #17

"You know what the army doctor said: no Indian medicine.' Old Ku'oosh will bring his bag of weeds and dust." pg(31). Here they are saying that even though Tayo is badly hurt they will not change their ways, even if it will end up killing him. "When Tayo saw he was getting started, he looked at the eyes again; he took off his jacket and covered the deer's head." Tayo did this purely out of respect for the deer, and the earth. When he was a little child he dreamed that a deer would come close to him and let him touch it, that's why he was so interested in this one.

"White women never looked at me until i put on that uniform, and then by God I was a U.S. Marine and they came crowding around. All during they war they'd say to me, "Hey soldier, you sure are handsome."" There it showing that white people only started caring because they felt bad, and they felt obligated to have to cheer for them to.
